It is popularly said that age is just but a number, but when it comes to health and appearance, age isn’t just a mere number, but rather it is an effect. Aging tends to bring about the distortion of the skin, forming wrinkles and sagginess, which are a real nuisance to some people. If you have been having worries and questions regarding this issue, well, Avané clinic is the answer for you. Our specialist team made up of dermatologists, physicians, and supporting staff will make sure that you do need not to worry anymore. At Avané clinic, we use dermal fillers to restore aging skin back to its glory days and leave you feeling younger and much more confident about your skin. In addition to this, fillers are also used for volume enhancement and facial contouring, smoothening of smile lines and those around the mouth (marionette lines), enhancing plumpness of the lips, treatment of nasolabial folds cheek fillers, correction of frown lines, deep forehead lines as well as temple dips, treatment of acne pits and scaring.

At Avané clinic, we believe that all procedures must follow due process. Before any procedure is done, we advise the client to consult widely with our specialists, who discuss with them the procedures, the requirements, and other details revolving around the dermal filling. They then find an appropriate model for the client based on the client’s request and specifications. Dermal filling is a non-surgical routine that is done on an outpatients’ basis.

During the procedure, the area under treatment is assessed and cleansed while mapping is done to identify the specific spots and marking is done. Antibacterial agents are used to cleaning out the spots and a numbing cream is applied to the area so as to reduce pain or discomfort and ensure the procedure is tolerable. Fillers are then carefully injected into the spots using injections, followed by massaging and evaluation of the results repeatedly. Some filler products used are imbued with an anesthetic compound such as lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during the treatment. The whole process may take about 30 minutes to one 1 hour, based on the size and complexity of the spot.

Avané clinic’s commitment to safety regulation is paramount and with regards to this, we use dermal fillers that are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Fillers are mostly named with regard to the substance they are made up of. These include:

  • Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers- This is a soft, gel-like product that contains hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the body and is used to maintain the skin’s hydration and keep it plump. It is infused with lidocaine as an anesthetic compound.
  • Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) fillers- They contain a synthetic, non-toxic material, which takes the form of a micro-sphere that remains underneath the skin for continued support and structuring. It also contains collagen which helps in structuring and enhancing the firmness of the skin
  • Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHA) fillers- This is a gel-like product that contains Calcium Hydroxyapatite, which helps stimulate natural collagen production. It is typically used to treat wrinkles and deep lines on the skin.
  • Polylactic acid fillers- They contain polylactic acid which is a synthetic, biodegradable, and non-toxic product that stimulates the production of the body’s own collagen. It works best with the lower face, thus it is primarily used in plumping thin lips or smoothening smile lines.

One cannot emphasize enough the benefits of having a dermal filling done at Avané clinic. For starters, the results are long-lasting. The fillers used at Avané are known to last for about 6-18 months depending on the type of product used and the maintenance done by the client. Moreover, the effects are very subtle and barely noticeable. The results of dermal filling are almost immediate and have little downtime. This means that one can go back to their normal routines as early as immediately after the procedure. However, our specialists advise our clients to take a day or two off normal routines and avoid strenuous activities, so as to optimize the healing process.

Fillers help to minimize or eliminate acne scars and other soft scar, for example, hyaluronic acid. The dermal filling procedure is non-surgical, which means it is easy to perform and involves minimal risks as compared to other skin rehabilitation methods. It also offers a cheaper and healthier alternative, with seemingly low risks involved. Fillers also help increase collagen and elastin production in the body, giving the skin a younger and firmer look. The procedure gets rid of wrinkles, acne, or other issues that may make one self-conscious. Elimination of these factors improves your confidence, ensures you feel better about yourself and appreciate your own beauty.

Dermal fillers can either be temporary or permanent. New clients are advised to try the temporary means and if they are comfortable with it, they could use the permanent means. Each of these is done with close consultation and guidance from our specialist teams. Moreover, at Avané clinic we combine dermal filling with other skin treatment methods such as Botox,(where applicable) so as to maximize skin healing and rehabilitation.

However, the dermal filling has some minor side effects. It may cause rashes or red spots on the skin, or maybe the face overfilling with the fillers. The skin around the treated area may feel itchy or irritable causing discomfort. In some minor cases, it has caused facial weakness and difficulties in swallowing or breathing. Avané clinic ensures that the procedure is done under highly hygienic conditions, and our expert teams work to ensure that no side effects affect our clients. Deep consultations are done to determine the brands to use on clients so as to avoid allergic reactions to some products or other effects that may occur due to the use of certain medications.

Contrary to popular misconception, filler products are not carcinogenic and hence cannot cause cancer. They are safe and healthy to use. They are however not advisable to use by pregnant and lactating mothers we advise our pregnant or lactating mothers to seek other skin treatment modes such as applying makeup until when our specialists consider them ready for the procedure.
