Have you tried weight loss programs, but you feel you still haven’t got what you wanted? Would you like to have a way to eliminate the remaining fat easily? If you are in such a scenario, then worry no more. Avané clinic, Nairobi has just the solution for you. We offer CoolSculpting services, a procedure used to eliminate fat cells in the body.

CoolSculpting is a brand name for a fat-freezing method that is used to eliminate stubborn fat particles from the body. It is also called cryolipolysis. This is a cosmetic procedure, performed by a plastic surgeon. It is a non-invasive procedure, hence does not involve incisions or any form of anaesthesia. It has fewer risks, fewer effects and less likelihood of complication as compared to other traditional methods of fat reduction such as liposuction. CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved procedure and is safe for use for fat reduction.

Coolsculpting is mostly used to remove fat that remains persistent after weight loss, diet or exercise programs. It is also used to remove fat from parts of the body that are hard to manage fat accumulation. This procedure uses freezing temperature to eradicate fat from the body. It is based on the fact that fat is more affected by cold temperatures than normal body cells. This means that when exposed to cold conditions, the cold damages the fat cells without affecting the normal body cells.

During cryolipolysis, the CoolSculpting device is passed over the part where fat reduction is taking place. The cryolipolysis device cools the fat particles to an ideal temperature that destroys them while leaving your skin and other tissues unharmed.

The procedure.

The Cryolipolysis procedure is non-invasive and non-surgical. First, the patient is prepped for the procedure and asked to lie on the procedure table. Afterwards, the surgeon or doctor holds the CoolSculpting device on your skin. The device holds the part of the body the doctor wants to target in between two paddles. These paddles cool quickly and the doctor leaves them in place for about 35 – 75 minutes. During this time, the device cools the fat particles held in between the paddles. It can reduce the fat by about 20%-25% of the fat cells in the treated area. The results are not instantly seen, since the body needs to take time to eliminate the dead fat cells. The final result can start showing after about 2 months. However, you might notice some slight changes in about 2 weeks after treatment.

How effective is CoolSculpting?

Coolsculpting and other forms of cryolipolysis are more effective than traditional fat reduction methods. They are also more satisfactory and more well received by our customers. The effectiveness of CoolSculpting however, varies from one person to another. It is not a permanent treatment, and one needs to maintain the results and watch their lifestyle. This is because one’s lifestyle can still impact their life even after CoolSculpting. One needs to be vigilant in what one eat’s and observe an exercise regime.

Who is a good candidate for CoolSculpting?

Anyone can be a good candidate for CoolSculpting, despite their age and gender. It is ideal for anyone who wishes to get rid of localized pockets of fatty tissues that persist despite exercise and weight loss programs. It is less effective in people with naturally high levels of fat and those with obesity. CoolSculpting is more effective for people with overall healthy lifestyles and within 13.6kg of their goal weight.  The procedure is however not safe for use by people with cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease and paroxysmal cold haemoglobinuria.

Moreover, any form of cryolipolysis such as CoolSculpting is not safe for pregnant or lactating mothers. It is also not advisable for people who can’t handle cold well, or who have health effects due to exposure to cold. People with loose skin and poor skin tones are also not good candidates for CoolSculpting. Furthermore, people with Raynaud’s phenomenon are also not suitable candidates for CoolSculpting.
